In The Lake District there is a popular hiking trail up to Raven Crag which has been notorious for unkept fires spreading to the tress around it in the dry summers. To counter this problem the trees have been felled around the perimeter of this popular Instagram location to try help the situation.
Straight Line Mission to Centre of GB to FIX Googles PROBLEM

Great Britain is misrepresented on Google Maps with a single picture of a rock in a field. We need to change that with a good old cup of tea. We took inspiration from GeoWizard and had our first attempt at a straight line mission to make things interesting for us! @GeoWizard Centre of Great Britain - www.google.com/maps/place/The Centre of Great Britain/@54.0037459,-2.8550385,11z/data=!4m10!1m2...

My first time in Snowdonia National Park, attempting Crib Goch to finally summit Snowdon. Although i tried my best to take every safety precaution i still managed to find a way to bugger something up! Crib Goch is of course very dangerous so please only attempt it if you feel capable. 4x US F35 Fighter Jets Catch me off guard whilst vlogging - LOUD

These 4 american fighter jets caught me off guard whilst in the UK Lake District doing a video. This is a clip from a full video i made last year for Scafell Pike but i thought this clip was awesome so wanted to share it individually. There is possibly an F22 in there as well! The last one of the 4 had a really heavy bank and it went right through my body. It literally took my breath away as it...

We NEED to TALK about THE STRID! Magnet Fishing Attempt!
This was so creepy, it's like playing subnautica and exploring the deep dark ocean at night time
I saw your older video and liked it at the time. This addition is excellent.
❤❤❤❤ looks beautiful
i thought it was like max 20 metres deep.. but 65!? deeper than the nearby "Izvoru muntelui lake" (lake in romania where i am)
That's why you always stick to the path especially in bad weather
Trees don't have veins. Please explain how sand got forced through the tree.
Always great to tune into your videos. Great entertainment and very inspiring!
What would be great to see would be pressure (depth) gauge, flow measure (m/s) and artificial horizon. As many others have said, seeing airbubbles at 25-30 metres is terrifying and quantifying things would likely be eye-opening
Me and my friends carried our bikes up swirrels edge. The next time they carried them across striding edge, I am pretty glad I didn’t participate in that one
They did it without a worry in the world 😂
Would love to see what lies at the bottom if they ever decide to redirect the water temporarily
That's an Elk not Moose.
Yosemite has a lot of granite rock whereas Yellowstone doesn't so much. Yellowstone is much higher in altitude on average than Yosemite. Yellowstone is 863 miles/1,389 kilometers apart from Yosemite by car. Yellowstone's claim to fame is the hot springs, geysers and other geothermal activity. There's more wild animals there as well. Many dangerous. You have to pay attention and keep your wits about you.
You’ve got balls for getting that close to the water.
Amateurs on the mountains, wise up newbies. Check mountain weather

Yeah man if ya get ya a girlfriend one day and you guys have a bitter disagreement, take her for a walk on the banks, hey ... people slip man, you be datin again before she makes the 11 oclock news. Cheers mate.
Put the go pro on something bigger so it stops getting caught.
I can’t believe your even sitting there!!
Very well done and thoughtful, cheers from British Columbia.
Jesus christ 😂 Same happened to me on a beach turkey 😂
I wouldn't even go there 😂😂 ..scared of heignts
I really enjoy Brits reactions to American parks because the UK has much to offer by way of culture and history and architecture and pubs and so on but nature isn't exactly their specialty if for no other reason than geographical size, so they have a heightened appreciation for natural wonders and i mean America is probably at the top of the entire globe for natural beauty. There's obviously not any objective standard for comparison between nature & art so for example if you look to natural wonders in China you will find incredible beauty. However, in terms of diversity of environments, none come close to America. By quantity/volume, we beat every nation on Earth.
You walking on that moss had me nervous. One slip and ...
The speed of sound in water is around four to five times faster than in air depending on temperature and other factors. The water you are sounding is heavily aerated so you are getting a false reading. The slower speed through the bubbles gives a longer signal return therefore giving a greater depth reading. You need to calibrate your sounder in the same conditions at a known depth.
Over the past few years I’ve witnessed what’s known as The Darwin Awards 😅
they left the path that was their mistake !! Never leave the path . I made that mistake when coming down from Ben Nevis in the 1980s !! Instinct told me to go back to the path and when I got down lower, I looked up to see where I had been going when trying the shortcut , had I stayed on that shortcut I would have plunged down a 10 metre cliff onto rocks below !
A guy I know died falling off this ridge at the weekend. Horrendous incident, his poor family left behind
Back in the 80s I was on holiday in Kirby Stephen and one evening the sun was shining and it was so beautiful I decided to go for a walk . I came across the old track bed of a disused railway line . I thought ah this must be old NER line to Appleby so I started to walk along it , going over some rickety old ( and dangerous ) railway bridges crossing a river , that were supposed to be fenced off but weren't . Eventually I arrived a Warcop where BR wagons were parked up . At this time the line from Appleby was still in use in the 80s to carry ammo to Army Firing ranges at Warcop ! It didn't close until the 90s . ( In fact I think the track is not closed but Mothballed ,at the Army's request ,in case the traffic restarts ! ). I carried on walking towards Appleby for some distance along the then in good condition track by realised it was getting late and had to turn back !
You remember well. I know this line well from Army days and yes it carried munitions to Warcop. The original line connected with the WCML well beyond Kirby Stephen. I well recall as an instructor at the Warcop Training camp having to genuinely watch and listening for a very slow moving train going through the centre of the camp with no warning but the locomotive horn! Lovely piece of history and pre-Beeching history.
I first started hillwalking maybe 35 years ago and was introduced to it by an experienced person. Every walker I would see would be properly dressed and carry a map etc. There was no internet so people exposure to this kind of thing was fellow walkers or the rambling clubs. These days everyone watches you tube etc and think they know it all, so YES YOU are definitely part of the problem of inexperienced idiots in the hills and people trashing the countryside. I was out only yesterday and came across an abandoned tent near to Low Water below Coniston Old Man whilst someone else was erecting their tent with a radio blaring out. People (some) go to these places for solitude and peace not to listen to someone elses crap on the radio or come across some lazy sods tent that they couldnt be bothered to remove. Where will it end? With all of us being banned from the countryside
As for the bubbles influencing the measurement: Maybe you and/or the company producing the device could do a test? You can go to a pool, measure the depth without bubbles, and then add a lot of bubbles (with a pump or compressed air) and see if and how much it influences the measurement. It won't directly help you measure the depth of the Strid, obviously, but it will give some insight into the bubble question.
It’s not that deep at all. If it were deep the water wouldn’t be flowing fast. Simple physics.
Your understanding of physics in apparently non-existent. It's a wide mouth shallow river suddenly being funnelled into an extremely tight, but deep crevice. What happens when you take a large volume of water and force in into a narrow space? IT'S PRESSURE INCREASES FORCING IT TO SPEED UP. Stop commenting about things you have no understanding of.
Cutting a bypass to empty that piece of the river there would be interesting.
Is that an Olight 🔦
Fantastic video! I hope your friend made a quick recovery, thank you for the transparency
My happy place❤❤❤❤I never get enough of it. And I’m always excited to return there, no matter how many times I’ve been.
Grib Goth should be treated with the utmost respect. Used to walk over in my youth when I did a lot of rock climbing. Recently walked over again in my 60’s. It’s a wonderful ridge walk but be prepared and do not attempt if you are unsure of your capability.
I did Crib Goch a few years back at age 65 not rushed or fast with safety in mind ,you have to know what to expect and have confidence in your abilities .Never set out on something you are over confident about ,this is recipe for disaster. Do not ever under estimate how the conditions can change around Yr Wyddfa ,having been caught myself and abandoned Cadair Idris due to weather change .If your not sure or confident of your abilities some scramblers suggest Blencathra in the lake district there are several knife edge routes not long but a good place to learn.
I hope you popped in another memory card, after retrieving it the first time. I can’t imagine the hubris of gambling twice, but that’s just the filmmaker in me.
My ex's uses to abort their suprises there so its a special place
A fantastic hike and scramble if the weather's good... wild camped up at Red Tarn last weekend and did Striding Edge, the Helvellyn ascent and descended via Swirrel Edge BUT, there was no wind and the rocks were dry. If they're not just think about the risk and work out is it really worth it to you?. Phenomenal hike in good weather, in bad weather you take your life in your own hands... also bear a thought for MR who have to come and retrieve you should anything (heaven forbid) bad happen!.
No, other people debunked the video and you were forced to admit you were wrong.
You are brave standing there 😂
Did Raven Crag in April. One of my favourites
I once saw a gentleman on Crib Goch coming from the opposite direction, as we passed I noticed he had flat soled office shoes on. Mental!
Where's em?
Where's em?.
Got to give em 10/10 for getting involved.
Well, cave diving again ;Since covid; near Dinas Silica Mine I think because we've seen some scary horror films or just getting old [and nagging wives] know one wanted to go down first. so we tied a huge weight [10kg] to 10mm edelrid rope. which is like steel wire but rope. And lowered that to the bottom. Then clip the camera and light to the edelrid and lower away. By tightening or slackening the tension on the rope , we could stear the camera away from rocks . This was good and I went down first . being a hero or fool. One day I'd like to visit THE STRID and probably sh1t my undies. Happy camera dipping.
I was _so_ captivated by this!! I think I even stopped breathing for a while. And that last sentence was GOLD!! 😂😂
Good to see someone taking all possible precautions. Set off ultra early in midsummer - so maximum daylight. A dry day with very little wind. Anticipated and thought through how to stay safe whilst filming - hands free. Filming, and expensive equipment secondary to your safety. Buddied up on most dangerous section. Told others where you were going. Gained relevant fitness and experience on less demanding /dangerous routes prior to this. Used equipment and pack weight suitable for yourself and the challenge. Even doing all this, still challenging, still risky. Well done.
